Trip to the ER

Last night was Abigail's first trip to the ER (and I'd be very happy if it is her last too!). As we were getting the kids into bed Abigail somehow managed to fall over the railing at the foot of her bed, did a little flip and landed on the floor. I only saw her out of the corner of my eye and turned in time to see her arch her back and scream followed by lots of crying. It took a few minutes to figure out that she seemed to be okay except she wouldn't move her right arm. We tried to calm her down so we could get her to move it, but the most she would do was wiggle her fingers.

So, we left Cody in the care of neighbors and set off for the hospital since no other places are open at 8pm. The x-ray did not show any broken bones (that they could see) but she wasn't using that arm (she still had not moved it much on her own) and she was holding her forarm a good deal of the time. The doctor said that due to her age and how the bones are growing it would be really easy for them to miss a small break. So, they put a splint and a sling on her right arm and told us to go see her doctor again tomorrow if possible.

Here she is today with Dave when we got home from church. So far she seems okay except when I have to put on or take off clothing. Then she says "owww!" Hopefully a trip to the doctor tomorrow will help us know if she really has a broken arm or if it is just sprained or something.
