If you haven't been able to get the marker off yet you could try WD-40. It will take it off of other things like tile. I'm not sure it if is safe on skin though... so I don't know. Good luck!
And this is only the beginning :) I finally had to hide all of my permanent markers and scissors because I was tired of couch cushions being ruined, counters being drawn on, clothes being snipped etc.
