Summer fun & 4th of July

Since we returned from our trip to New Jersey (post coming soon) we have been doing projects I've found through pinterest to keep the summer boredom to a minimum.  The other day we made homemade gak.  The kids LOVE playing with it and it was super easy to make!  They think it is awesome how it stretches and feels squishy etc.

We pulled together a family gathering at the last minute.  A surprise visit from Uncle Kevin and his kids brought five out of six siblings to our house for a barbecue for the fourth of July.  The cousins all had so much fun playing together!  Buddy apparently thought he needed to be in the pictures too.  He climbed up there and turned around and sat down to pose with the kids.

Five siblings (plus baby Ellie and Travis) and Grandma Heather & Grandpa Scott.

Kristi, Kevin, Jacob, Gary and Alex.
Lined up oldest to youngest.  Yes, I'm officially the short one in the family!  Gary, Kristi (holding Ellie), Kevin, Alex and Jacob.

It was the perfect way to celebrate our country's Independence day, surrounded by family and the laughter of our little ones.

Wow. What a special holiday to have almost all your family together! Is Jacob the tallest now? Sheesh! And he probably isn't done growing! Ellie looks so cute in her outfit and the cousin photo was an amazing sight. I bet your mom was in heaven.
