34

David is officially 34 now.  He wanted to go out to eat for his birthday, so we used our Olive Garden gift card from Christmas to take the family out to lunch.  The kids were well behaved for the most part and we had an enjoyable experience eating out together.  Then we went to Costco so Dave could pick out some dessert for later on.  He chose HUGE cupcakes for the kids and a strawberry cheesecake for everyone else.  For Christmas his big present was a movie projector.  He decided he wanted a blue ray player for his birthday to go with it.  So, he bought his own birthday present this year (which also included a new tv for our bedroom to go with the blue ray player).  I felt like he should have something to open on his actual birthday so I got him some of his favorite treats (nuts and beef jerky) from Costco.  The kids also had fun making him little notes/drawings for him to open.  Mom and Dad Burt also gave him a nice book about how to live a self-sufficient life.  Nathaniel and his family came over after dinner to help us eat the desserts.  Here are a few pictures of the festivities.
Dave fashioned his own candle (several candles taped to a shish-kabob stick).

My camera ran out of space on the memory card so the video got cut short.
