Kristi and Kaitlyn (notice the nice wind brake a few strong souls built to shelter us).
The Wagstaff cousins all buried in a hole.
The next day we went to Ruby beach just a few miles away. Last year it was a very nice sandy beach with a large fresh water "lake" at the top of the beach. So, we were all excited to go again this year and play in the lake and sand. Well, mother nature left us another story this year. It was mostly rocky with a few patches of sand and more of a fresh water stream. We set up camp in a small patch of sand mixed with rocks and the kids still played in the stream. They had fun despite the fact that it wasn't really all that warm.
Abi playing the drums with sticks and rocks.
Cody on one of the rafts Dave built.
Kaitlyn throwing rocks in the water.
Kaitlyn climbing the driftwood.
Mary hanging out by the water.
Every afternoon at both beaches huge flocks of seagulls would fly around eating the fish in the surf.
By the end of the day when we were driving home Dave and I were both exhausted, but it was a good tired feeling. I'm glad the kids got to play with their cousins and grandparents as well as have fun doing a family outing. It probably won't always be their idea of fun to hang out with their own family, so we'll soak up these memories and cherish them!
