sledding...sort of

For this long weekend we decided to go try and get some sledding in. One of Dave's co-workers told him about a place up in the mountains near Quilcene so we decided to go check it out. We discovered that mini-vans do NOT make good mountaineering in the snow vehicles. We even put chains on and still could not get far once we hit snow. So, we parked on the side of the road as high up the mountain as our van would allow and sledded down the road. It was really icy and slippery and we ended up sliding into the ditch where there were small trees sticking up that had been badly chopped down. They were sticking up about two feet and looked like they used one of those great big lawn mower things to chop them (so the tops were sharp, not flat). Due to this hazzard, we tried to find a better spot. Again the van just wouldn't cooperate so we ate lunch in the van, explored a couple of roads until we hit snow and then came back home.

Abi took this picture of Mommy and Kaitlyn.
