Babies, carnival & ducks

Here is Kaitlyn (six and a half weeks) right after her bath. I was trying to get her curly hair before the kids rubbed her head and pulled them straight again. She is now starting to smile and "talk" but I have yet to get a smile on the camera.

We went to Viking Fest this weekend. Cody and Abigail got to go on a few rides (which they loved) and we walked around looking at all the vendors things. Cody thought the viking weapons on display were pretty cool.

Abigail was smiling almost the whole time on this ride. It was the first one the kids went on and since we got there right when the rides were opening and no one else was in line yet the operator let them go again for free! Pretty nice since each ride cost about 3-4 tickets per kid!

Dave's latest animal fettish is ducks. He wants to have ducks that lay eggs (someone told him they are better than chicken eggs). Last year he showed up with three ducks from a co-worker. A year has gone by and no eggs so, we finally found out they are all males. No wonder we never got any eggs! Anyway, Dave ordered seven more babies. We have had three of them for a couple of weeks and just got the other four a few days ago. Cody and Abigail like to take them out and play with them. I guess carrying them around in buckets is a pretty fun thing to do because they've been doing it a lot! Hopefully some of these will be female so Dave can achieve his dream of trying duck eggs.

Yes, that is a baby duck in a bucket. I guess it is more fun than holding it 'cause they carry them around every time they go outside with Daddy.

Great photos! Cody and Abi look pretty cute carrying their ducks around. We look forward to seeing Kaitlyn smiling and laughing in a video :)

How does he keep them from flying away? We had ducks when we were little and they managed to escape.

So what do you plan on doing with the male ducks? I've never tasted duck before :)
