Glass Beach

While at our last Enrichment night for Relief Society heard some women talking about Glass Beach in Port Townsend.  I thought it sounded like a fun adventure, so during spring break we went and checked it out.  Apparently it used to be used as a dump so now the beach is littered with small pieces of glass that have been smoothed by the ocean.  It is about a four mile hike to get all the way out to the correct spot so we only made it part way with all four kiddos, but we still found quite a bit of glass on our way.  Kaitlyn surprised me by being a very good glass finder (although she kept calling it ice).  It ended up being a bit windier and colder than we thought, but the kids all did great and everyone had fun finding "treasures" along the way.
