Camping with Allie's family

We went camping this weekend with Nathaniel and Allie and their families.  We decided to try a new camping ground since the one we've been to in the past had a burn-ban going on right now.  The first place we went to we didn't have the correct pass to stay there.  So, we headed to the Hoh rain forest and stayed in the campground there.  It is a very nice area with large grassy sites, however, it takes a long time to drive down the road.  It ended up adding an extra half hour to the day trips we took.

Friday we went to Kalaloch beach.  It was cloudy, but not too cold and the wind wasn't blowing very hard either.  Everyone had fun playing in the sand and the ocean waves.  There was also a game of baseball and a game of football!

 Family picture!
Joshua and Abi under a large tree that looks like it won't be staying up there much longer.  The kids kept trying to play in there much to the dismay of their mothers!  They didn't want to heed our warnings that it wasn't safe.

On Saturday we ate breakfast, cleaned up camp, packed up lunches and then headed out to Ruby beach for the afternoon.  Cody tripped and ended up with two scraped knees, a scraped elbow and hand.  I think he was the only one who ended up with camping wounds.  Not too bad when there are 13 kids running all over the place!

 Happy Kaitlyn

On the way home we stopped at my parents house to attend the crab feed they were having.  Scott made a LOT of food.  Crab cakes, crab legs, ribs, chicken and sausage as well as lots of side dishes and fruit.  We stayed and visited with my Grandma Sian, and Aunts Joyce and Rachel who are all up visiting this week.
