Back in the routine

School started the first Wednesday in September so we have had a week and a half to get back into our routine.  Cody ended up with Mrs. Huntington for a second grade teacher and Abi has morning kindergarden with Ms. Story.  Both kids seem to be doing well so far.  Abi tells me everyday that she doesn't want to go to school, but then ends up having a good time while she is there.  I think her not wanting to go mostly has to do with the fact that we now have cousins living next door and she would much rather stay home and play with them than go off to school.

Since September has so far decided to be kind to us we have had one rain storm that lasted all night, but otherwise it has been sunny and pleasantly warm.  We have consequently been spending a lot of time outdoors riding bikes, playing in the yard, working in the garden etc.  As soon as the kids get home from school (and after homework is done) they head outside, stay there until dinner, then head back outside until bedtime!  I love it.

Poor Kaitlyn is stuck at home with just mom for the mornings.  She helps out with chores sometimes, but mostly follows me around asking where Abi and Cody are.  She does enjoy playing with cousin Jesse too, but it isn't the same as having a brother/sister here to play with.  I am certain that when her new sister is born in December she will be totally enthralled and I will spend my days making sure she isn't smothering her with too much love!  She already loves having baby Wesley next door and is constantly asking to hold him or trying to shove his pacifier in his mouth.  Here is a picture of her contentedly holding him at our house.

Someday she will be a great mother!  She reminds me of me...I was ALWAYS stealing other people's babies as a girl.
