Field Trip

Cody's 1st grade class got to go to the Point Defiance Zoo today.  I was able to go along as a chaperone too!  With teachers and parents who went along there were 9 adults to 24 kids which means I only had to be in charge of Cody and one other boy.  It made it easy-smeashy and so much fun!  The other boy had never been to this zoo before which made it even more fun to see his excitement over all the animals and things.

Cody's favorite part was the "show"  that they put on a couple times a day and bring out animals while saving the world from the bad guy.  In this case the bad guy had an evil mind-ray that made everyone want to stay inside rather than outside.  The various animals in the show helped the heroes find and collect things for the antidote that would destroy the ray-gun.  It was pretty funny at times and neat to see the animals up close doing fun things.

Here is Cody with a puffin swimming in the water behind him.  I think it thought that if it could just get through the glass then surely we would feed it, because it kept coming right up to anyone standing there and trying desperately to get to them through the glass.

Here's a few of the kids playing on the playground right before we headed out to come home.  The SUN even came out for the last hour we were at the zoo!

Yet another fun day that made me glad the last day of school is tomorrow so we can spend the summer doing FUN things together!
