Playin' in the snow

To the total delight of my children we finally got snow here. They haven't had to go to school at all this week (Monday was a holiday and Tuesday I wimped out and didn't take Cody because it was snowing steadily). Even though it warmed up enough to kind of melt the snow by Tuesday afternoon I didn't leave the house until Dave came home and then let him drive the family around. We went to The Outback Steakhouse to use our gift cards (Thanks Grandpa Kelle!) for Davids early birthday dinner celebration. We had planned to go on his birthday, but since the forcast for Wednesday was pretty nasty, we went on Tuesday instead.

Wednesday and Thursday have both proven to be very snowy days. As I write this it is still coming down steadily. I'm so glad we live in a place where school (and Dave's work) get cancelled for snow because my minivan does NOT drive well in snow!

So, we have been drinking hot chocolate, sledding down our hill, building snow forts and hanging out in our warm and cozy home. It is supposed to start raining again tomorrow, so we will have to get our fill of snowy activities today....

We've had a good amount of snow to play in and it is looking like it will stay for just the right amount of time. We get to play in it for a few days and then go back to our normal rainy Washington days!
