We went camping with my parents at Green Point (private property owned by Scott's work). It hasn't rained here in about a month, so of course it chose yesterday to start raining. Dave and I set the tent up and as soon as we finished we started feeling the first drops of the downpour. Fortunately, this spot has a little covered area with a cement floor so we were able to get out of it and still play Uno and eat in a dry area.
It rained off and on all of Friday night. So, we stayed in the shelter when it rained and then came out to the beach and the camp fire when it was not raining. The kids got soaked, but didn't seem to care. Abigail was trying to catch the raindrops with her tongue as they fell from the roof of the covered area!
We stayed nice and roasty-toasty dry in our tent. Always a plus when camping! Then today we walked the VERY mesquito infested trail to the top of the nearby hill. I've never seen so many mesquitoes in Washington! Needless to say that even with the spray on ourselves we all ended up with a few bites!
My brother Kevin came Saturday afternoon with his family. So, we got to play with them for a few hours before coming home. It was a very nice campout with the family!
