We took our annual family vacation to Wenatchee/Lake Chelan This week. This time we stayed in a cabin at Lincoln Rock State Park. It was nice and roasty toasty over there and we had fun playing in the Columbia River. The Park has a swimming area with a rocky beach and grass nearby. There is also a nice playground. We brought the kids scooters and they had fun zipping around the campground. The cabin was basically just for sleeping in, there wasn't a bathroom or kitchen (although it did have a table and chairs inside). So, we cooked outside on our camp stove and the fire pit (so fun when it is in the 90's outside). Thankfully, the cabin did have a little air-conditioner in it! I can't even imagine the people tent camping there. It was so hot!

On our second day we went to Slide Waters. It is a fun water park that the kids LOVE! I didn't take the camera in there so no pictures. Cody (my child who used to be terrified of the water) had a blast riding the water slides by himself. The girls loved the huge hot tub, but it was so hot out that it amazes me they spent so much time in there. Abi kept going back and forth between the hot tub and cold pool. Ellie liked playing in the baby area with shallow water and running around everywhere. She is like the energizer bunny, just go, go, go!
Later that afternoon we went to Chelan State Park to see what it was like. It also had a swimming area, but most of us were too tired for more swimming. We played on the playground and walked around a bit, then headed across the street to a cafe for some good burgers and french fries.

After dinner we went back to our cabin and some of the kids and Dave went swimming again. We were so exhausted by the end of the day we all just crashed in our beds.
The next day we packed up and went to breakfast at Prospector Pies. Dave liked the food and service last year when we went for dinner, so he really wanted to go back again. They have a nice breakfast buffet and we even got two compliments from other diners about our well behaved family. (It is a good thing they didn't see the kids in the car on the drive over...). Then we headed back to Kingston where we unpacked and got ready for fireworks with Nathaniel's family that evening.
